Hodonín - spa resort & hotels
Hodonín, one of the newest spas in the country, can be found in the heart of the Slovácko region in Moravia where the borders of the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Austria converge. The spa began treating patients in 1979 and the buildings and surrounding parkland have a modern, neat look. The town is the birthplace of the first Czechoslovak president T. G. Masaryk who also established his summer residence here. The local wine producing tradition, wine tasting and numerous folk celebrations make a visit to the region a pleasant experience for thousands of visitors annually. The water from the local springs is one of the best of its kind in Europe.
The natural spring water rich in iodine and bromine is used to treat patients with musculoskeletal problems, nerve root problems and circulation disorders. Naturally occuring gases are also used. A significant part of the treatments on offer here involve bathing in the water, the application of mineral-rich packs, classic massage, underwater and reflex massage, various kinds of baths (bubbles, herbs, whirlpool, etc), electrotherapy, magnetotherapy, paraffin wraps, gas injections and treatment using a myostimulator.
The spa has cycles for hire and organizes trips to places in the surrounding area as well as boat trips on the River Morava.
