Slatinice - spa resort & hotels
The village of Slatinice, the oldest spa in Moravia, can be found around 14 km from the town of Olomouc. Spa treatments have been practiced here since the early 16th century. The newly renovated buildings of the spa, the design of which reminds visitors of rural architecture, have a pleasant family-orientated feel. Apart from comprehensive, state-funded and walk-in spa treatment, the spa also offers preventative procedures, relaxation, recreation and New Year programmes as well as hotel accommodation. Slatinice enjoys a full programme of cultural and social events year-round to please every taste. The most important historical structure in the village is a building which once belonged to the Lichtenštejn family. The courtyard now holds two tennis courts.
The mineral springs rich in sulphuretted hydrogen and various other microelements is used to treat musculoskeletal problems and obesity.
An outdoor mineral water swimming pool, skittles, outdoor chess, and pétanque are all available at the spa. Bicycles and special rehabilitation tricycles can also be hired. Special fitness trails have been created around the spa.
