| Description: | Lázně Teplice v Čechách a.s. [Teplice Spa] Teplice Spa is set in beautiful surroundings at the foot of the Krušné hory [The Ore Mountains] at an altitude of 220 meters above sea level. It is surrounded by hills, which were formed by volcanic activity in pre-historic times. Close to the German border, Teplice lies 90 km from Prague. The spa houses in Teplice have one of the longest traditions associated with the use of thermal waters; its springs having been in use since the 12th century. It was the development of the spa industry, which helped Teplice to transform itself from being an unknown town into an important centre with magnificent buildings and beautiful architecture. The unique atmosphere and the healing springs have always been a magnet for famous individuals such as emperors, ambassadors, artists and celebrities. The fame and proven healing effects of the thermal springs still draw lots of visitors today.
